The Department of Health and Human Services’ (“HHS”) Office of Inspector General (“OIG”) and the Department of Justice (“DOJ”) published their joint Report on the Health Care Fraud and Abuse Control Program for Fiscal Year 2022. The report outlines the program’s results and accomplishments, as well as OIG’s and the DOJ’s respective enforcement results. The report identifies financial recoveries of over $1.7 billion for various federal health care programs, including the federal share of Medicaid recoveries.
