The Ontario government has released the Report to the Attorney-General of the Anti-SLAPP Advisory Panel. (A "SLAPP" is a "Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation" - in other words a lawsuit intended to silence criticism by employing a strategy of financial attrition). As the government's summary indicates, Quebec passed anti-SLAPP legislation in 2009 (the relevant provisions are in Section 54.1 of the Code of Civil Procedure, RSQ c. C-25).
