STRIKE TWO, YOU'RE OUT (of Georgia)
Connie Rhodes is a military doctor who received US Taxpayer funding for her medical education and agreed to serve two years in the military in exchange for that education. Rhodes is represented by Orly Taitz, Esq., the self proclaimed "head" of a national "birther" movement, who has filed several lawsuits in various United States federal courts questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama's status as a United States.
Rhodes filed an action in the Middle District of Georgia and sought a Temporary Restraining Order to stop her deployment to Iraq on the constitutional grounds that Obama, the current Commander-In-Chief of the US Military, is not qualified to order the deployment.
District Judge CLAY LAND issued a strong rebuke and stern warning to counsel Taitz, who had filed the same action in a Texas District court. It was thrown out of Texas first. Judge Land denied the TRO and warned Taitz that she will be sanctioned under FRCP 11 if she files any further "frivolous" claims in his court. Thrown out of Texas. Thrown out of Georgia.
Judge Land's ORDER clearly cuts through the political rhetoric in Rhodes' pleadings - rhetoric that has become commonplace in the current political/cultural environment of angry talk radio and gross misinformation emanating from cable outlets - to expose the "Birther Agenda" for what it really is: NOTHING.
Warning to all Officers of the Courts of the United States: If you intend on using the courts of the United States to advance your extremist agendas, you do so at your own risk - the judiciary is generally not as gullible as the audiences of talk radio and 24 hour cable.
