When a police cruiser is stopped along the side of the freeway in order to deal with an accident, it’s usually a scene that’s clearly marked so that other motorists are not put at risk of a collision. While most people have seen patrol cars stopped along the shoulder of the road, there are instances where it will stop in the center median if the officer feels it’s safe. Tragically, a stopped CHP vehicle in the median of a highway was involved in a fatal California car accident over Labor Day weekend.
