Mobile phone business Phonedog LLC filed suit against former employee Noah Kravitz in the US District Court for the Northern District of California in November 2011, alleging that Mr. Kravitz took 17,000 Twitter followers with him after he resigned from the company. The case presents new legal issues relating to social media such as rights of ownership to a social media profile and will be watched closely for guidance on employee operation of business profiles on social medial platforms.
