The April 2015 edition of Pratt’s Energy Law Report features an article from ML Strategies’ Jordan Collins on the Department of the Interior’s Five Year Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program for 2017-2022.

Jordan focuses on the Obama Administration’s delicate balancing act on the development of natural resources off the shores of the United States, including actions taken to open up the portions of the Atlantic coast for offshore drilling while simultaneously declaring portions off the coast of Alaska as off limits for oil and gas development.

A brief overview of the Atlantic plan and designated Alaskan “Withdrawal Areas” is coupled by reactions from lawmakers as well as key energy and environment stakeholders. Click here to read Jordan’s full report.
