Public Lending Right Scheme Consultation

The Department for Culture, Media & Sport has launched a consultation seeking opinions from stakeholders on the practical effects of the proposed changes to the Public Lending Right Scheme (the “PLRS“).  The proposals will extend the PLRS to cover audio-books and e-books downloaded on a library’s premises for use elsewhere and will largely following the existing provisions of the PLRS.
