HIPAA Final Regulations -
In January of this year, the Department of Health and Human Services issued final regulations (also referred to as the “Omnibus Rule”) that include changes to the privacy, security and breach notification rules under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) and provide rules implementing the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (the “HITECH Act”).
