Removal Education Records from School Files


Whether you are the parent of a school aged child or your are a student attending college, there are laws that allow you to challenge and remove certain types of documents from your educational file. The types of documents to be removed might be inaccurate, false or misleading.

The federal government has enacted FERPA and most often state laws have legislation which either mirrors FERPA or provides even greater protections.

There are strict timelines in some cases for challenging educational records and having them removed.
