Shawn Bennett appointed to federal oil and gas position

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy has announced the appointment of Ohio’s Shawn Bennett as deputy assistant secretary for oil and natural gas. The agency said in a news release that Bennett will administer oil and gas programs, including research and development, analysis and natural gas regulation. Bennett has more than a decade of experience in public affairs and government relations in the coal and oil and gas industries, most recently serving as executive vice president for the Ohio Oil and Gas Association.
