The Personal Properties Securities Act 2009 (Cth) (“PPSA”) establishes a new system for the registration and preservation of security interests in any personal property (other than land).

This article discusses some of the more common interests of those in the shipping industry which will now be required to be registered in order to ensure that they are recognised and enforced.
