On Sunday, August 7, following an all-night voting session, the Senate approved the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) by a vote of 51-50. The IRA was considered under the budget reconciliation procedure, requiring only a simple majority to pass the bill; Vice President Harris cast the tiebreaking vote.
