I have been teaching estate planning as a special or adjunct professor at St. John's University School of Law and Hofstra University School of Law, and other law schools throughout the state since 1980. When I first started teaching estate planning, I pointed out many devices that could be used in order to minimize estate taxes such as Crown loans, Clifford trusts, trust and leasebacks, estate freezes, and other like devices which I will address in future articles.
