Carmela Garcia, a mother of six, heard two of her neighbors in an apartment complex at Babu’s Villa Apartments, 10515 Mills Tower Drive in Rancho Cordova, arguing about money. When Garcia left her apartment to ask the men to stop arguing, one of them went to his apartment, came back with two pit bulls and told them to attack both Garcia and the other resident.
According to KXTV News 10, shocked onlookers saw the dogs chewing up the male resident, biting his face and dragging him across a grass area, even as people were shouting at the dogs’ owners to call the dogs off. The severely injured man was rushed to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento and is expected to survive.
In the meantime, Garcia was also bitten by one of the dogs and received serious injuries to both arms and hands in the attack.
The owner of the dogs had run off by the time police arrived, but the two dogs were located in the apartment complex and were taken into custody by animal control authorities.
We would like to wish both of the people injured in this savage and frightening attack a full and speedy recovery from their injuries.
