UK enacts its own "FCPA"

The recently-enacted UK Bribery Act will impact multinational companies once it comes into effect in early 2011. In many ways, it goes beyond the FCPA in terms of scope of activities covered and penalties for violation. Compliance with the Bribery Act should be a priority for all US or other multinational corporations which have business in the UK, particularly if they also do business in China and/or other developing economies prone to corruption.
