UNCITRAL Concludes Its 56th Session in Vienna

On July 25, 2023, the United Nations Commission on International Trade (UNCITRAL) concluded its 56th session in Vienna, Austria.

During the 56th session, UNCITRAL adopted a number of new guidelines and texts on mediation, dispute resolution, and other international law topics.

These texts include:

  • UNCITRAL Model Provisions on Mediation,
  • UNCITRAL Guidelines on Mediation for International Investment Disputes,
  • UNCITRAL Guidelines on Mediation for International Investment Disputes,
  • UNCITRAL Code of Conduct for Judges, the UNCITRAL Guide on Access to Credit for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), and
  • Guidance text on early dismissal and preliminary predetermination to be included in the UNCITRAL Notes on Organizing Arbitral Proceedings.
