On April 4, 2016 the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published a Federal Register notice asking for comments to proposed amendments to Trademark Rules of Practice. Specifically, the rules to practice before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, to provide for more efficiency and clarity in inter partes and ex parte proceedings. There are also certain amendments proposed to reduce the burden on the parties, to conform the rules to current practice, to update references that have changed, to reflect technologic changes, and to ensure the use of standard, current terminology.  Comments are due by June 3, 2016.
