As the president of ACEDS, Mike leads the organization and is responsible for the overall administrative and operational oversight of the organization, including program development, training and professional development, and strategic partnerships. Considered among the top legal technologists in the US, he has spent the last 20 years leveraging the power of technology to meet the current and emerging needs of organizations throughout the legal community. He is also the author of the 2016 book Project Management in Electronic Discovery and has been successfully consulting in information governance, e-discovery, project management and legal technology for all of his career, including 10-year stints at both Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. For much of his career Mike has been training and educating lawyers and other legal professionals in the benefits of technology to the legal profession. A graduate of the State University of New York, he is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS). He frequently speaks and writes on e-discovery, legal operations, project management and technology topics. Richard Finkelman is a Managing Director and Practice Leader in the Firm’s Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Group at Berkeley Research Group. Mr. Finkelman brings more than 30 years of experience helping clients manage information in litigation, regulatory, and business matters.

Mr. Finkelman has spent the past several years focusing on the application of Artificial Intelligence technologies in disputes. His work includes using AI and Machine Learning technologies to predict documents for privilege review. He is also involved with the legal education programs at Baylor Law School and Northwestern Law School providing content and working with students on real world AI projects.

Bill is lawyer and technologist helping customers leverage AI to optimize e-Discovery, investigations and compliance workflows. Bill previously practiced law in the area of mergers and acquisitions and has extensive experience in the technology field. His special emphasis is in the application of AI and machine learning technologies to solve document review challenges.

Bill has a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and is admitted to practice law in Illinois.
