Whistle Blower Lawsuit Against Rush Hospital and Physicians

A former Rush Hospital executive and an othopeadic physician claim that six Rush orthopeadic physicians and the Rush hospital fraudulently billed Medicare for surgeries done by hospital residents where the supervising orthopeadic physician was not present in the operating room. It is alleged that in at least one instance, a physician billed Medicare for the surgery performed by the resident while performing their own surgery in another operating room!
