Poteet v. Town of Flower Mound, Texas

Petitioner's Brief on the Merits to the Supreme Court of Texas

Poteet v. Sullivan is a fascinating civil rights case where police officers assisted a former girlfriend in emptying her former boyfriend's house. The trial court granted all defendants a summary judgment; the court of appeals affirmed in part and reversed in part. Mr. Poteet petitioned the Texas Supreme Court to hold the Town liable as well as putting the police officers to trial. The Texas Supreme Court denied review; Mr. Poteet is petitioning the United States Supreme Court for a writ of certiorari.
