Here is an example of a records subpoena, with an attached rider, that I routinely send out in divorce cases to determine the other party's total income from employment, their other employee benefits, and their overall retirement assets accrued from their employment, such as 401(k) accounts or pensions. Sometimes it's faster and more effective to simply subpoena this type of information, versus fighting to obtain it through more traditional discovery.
