Employers Need to Know: COBRA Subsidy Extension

On December 21, 2009, President Obama signed the 2010 Defense Appropriations Act extending the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) subsidy originally enacted in February 2009 by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The new law has implications for employers administering COBRA benefits to terminated employees.
