Demand for Removal of Construction Lien Template

SUMMARY: If a lien is filed improperly in Louisiana, the Louisiana Private Works Act provides that any interested party may make a demand upon the claimant that the lien be removed from public records.
La. R.S. 9:4833 requires that prior to filing suit to force the lien's removal, the interested party must send written demand to the claimant and provide the claimant with ten (10) days to voluntarily remove the mechanic's lien.
If the claimant refuses to cancel the construction or mechanic's lien, the interested party can file suit to force its removal.
This form is a template for the written demand to cancel the lien required by La. R.S. 9:4833.
