New York Workplace Discrimination Lawyer Reminds Employers that the Law Makes Ethnic Discrimination Illegal

David Perecman comments on the workplace discrimination complaint filed by Esther Winkley, a Filipino woman who has accused industrialist Leonard Blavatnik of job discrimination in New York. Winkley says the billionaire denied her employment as his housekeeper because of her ethnicity.

Blavatnik's butler allegedly wrote “No Philippines, thanks," in an email to Winkley's headhunter.

“New York City is one of the most diverse cities in the world. But, while most New Yorkers live and work together, there are occasions where people do experience workplace discrimination,” said New York employment discrimination lawyer David Perecman, founder of The Perecman Firm, one of New York's workplace discrimination law firms. “Employers need to know employment discrimination in New York is against the law.”

Employment discrimination based on ethnicity is a violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. There are also many employment discrimination laws at the state and local level that prohibit ethnic, age, race and other workplace discrimination in New York.

The Perecman Firm has helped victims of workplace discrimination and other civil rights violations in New York obtain compensation and justice.
