The article gives an overview of personal injury law in the European Union and the United States. Compensation of damages for traffic accident injuries varies widely throughout the E.U. and the U.S. on the basis of different limitation periods, substantive laws, caps, admissibility standards for expert opinions, and networks among plaintiff’s lawyers.
