SUMMARY: This case involves alleged defamatory rants by Courtney Love about a fashion designer on various media including, Twitter and MySpace. This case is important because it involves the first known lawsuit over Twitter libel. The attached document is the First Amended Complaint, in which the designer's counsel has removed two causes of action. Namely, one of the causes of action for breach of contract, and most interesting, the claim for intentional infliction of emotional distress. I mean, if Ms. Love did indeed make the statements alleged in the First Amended Complaint, wouldn't it make sense to sue for intentional infliction of emotional distress?
