Italian Antitrust Authority fines RyanAir for violation of consumer protection laws


Italian Antitrust Authority fines RyanAir for its pricing practices which provide for charging separately customers for credit card fees and flight check in.

The decision follows the trend of Antitrust Authority to sanction airline carriers which publish fares which do not include all necessary elements fo cost.

With respect to credit card fees, the Antitrust Authority held that it is not sufficient to provide that payments with a specified card will attry no fee, if the use of such a a card is not reasonably common.
