The Mississippi Court of Appeals upheld dismissal of a suit against the City of Quitman whereby officers allegedly failed to arrest the eventual victim's ex-husband, when three days later he returned and stabbed his ex-wife and daughter (the plaintiffs). The court, following longstanding Mississippi law, found that the officers' conduct did not rise to the level of reckless disregard under Mississippi's Tort Claims Act.
