New York personal injury lawyer David Perecman comments on an freak work accident that occurred in Brooklyn, New York. Juan Baten, 22, was killed in a tortilla factory after falling into a machine used for making the tortillas. The New York Times reported that the Guatemalan immigrant died after his neck was broken by the mixing machine's powerful motor-powered blade. Co-workers tried to help Baten after the fatal factory accident but they were unable to do anything to help. Baten died at the scene. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Department of Labor are investigating this fatal work accident.

New York personal injury lawyer Perecman also clarifies what the rights are of undocumented immigrants who are hurt in a factory accident or killed at work. In New York, an undocumented worker may pursue a personal injury claim if he or she is hurt on the job. However, if a factory worker is hurt or killed in New York, a personal injury lawyer may be needed to help the injured employee or surviving relatives receive the financial compensation they deserve.

New York personal injury lawyers are waiting for more information to be made available on Baten.
