Challenging Inventory Searches Paper for Presentation


Following the Supreme Court's decision in Gant v. Arizona which limited police authority to search arrestees incident to arrest, the subject of challenging inventory searches suddenly became much more important. This paper was presented to various local criminal defense associations to assist practitioners in understanding the issues involved in challenging inventory searches.

A version of this paper appeared in the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association's magazine Voice for the Defense.
