This article identifies and establishes what could be regarded as a new era in fundamental rights protection under the Constitution of Romania via the European Convention on Human Rights. The decision that found the implementing law of Directive 2006/24/CE will be around for a couple of years until the legal community will find a way to cope with the need for security and respect for fundamental rights.
