Solomon Beacon Inn v Monroe County VAB

Petitioner's Informal Brief in Support of Admission of Evidence

This document was an informal memorandum to the Monroe County Value Adjustment Board in support of the taxpayer's submission of evidence. The County objected to the submission of evidence based on Higgs v Good. This memorandum represents a successful argument that the Higgs standard is not applicable to VAB hearings. Ultimately, the evidence was admissible and the taxpayer received a reduction in assessable value, resulting in a property tax savings.
