The March of Dimes 2010 Premature Birth report card released this week shows that a high number of babies are born early in New York. As a result, the March of Dimes gave New York State a “D” grade. David Perecman, a New York medical malpractice attorney, wants to see this grade improved. Premature babies are at greater risk for lifelong health problems that include cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, respiratory problems, deafness and blindness. While it is not possible to prevent all preterm deliveries, New York medical malpractice attorneys understand there are often ways doctors can protect the baby’s health.
