New York civil rights violation lawyer David Perecman comments on Chinemerem Eze, a Brooklyn College honors student from Nigeria, who was falsely imprisoned at Kings County Psychiatric Hospital for approximately two weeks. She claims college staff committed her after she complained that her off-campus landlord was secretly videotaping her in her apartment. She claims that she missed her final exams while she was held at the institution and that the school refused to let her retake them, causing her to lose a $65,000 Brooklyn College scholarship. Eze is suing the College and the CUNY system for false imprisonment, among other allegations.
