Get the country back its pride we are responsible.

There are answers to combat corruption, but our nation is only going on a moralistic drive without realizing the practical difficulties and repercussions. Have we thought why is corruption rampant amongst government officials/pubic servants? The answer is simple because unfortunately they are being paid subsidized salaries as compared to their corporate counter parts plus there is a complete restriction from earning legitimate money from independent sources or having private practice. How can we allow such blatant discrimination which ofcourse leads to financial dissatisfaction and inturn make them prone to corrupt practices. Why cant we accept a public servant demanding fee for efficient execution of work instead of taking bribe. Are we saying we have a problem if a public servant is becoming rich? If not, please give them the flexibility to work on incentives. Let them charge their due fee which would be a predefined percentage of the value of the transaction. For eg if a thing worth 10,000 gets lost and a police official is given a duty to find it, would it be wrong if you pay him Rs. 1000 as a service charge for rendering efficient service which is also based on success?
