A woman was hospitalized Saturday night when she was hit by a flying glass that was intended for someone else. The man who threw it is now facing a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
The story posted on SacBee.com said that police were called to a bar on 2nd Street in Old Sacramento at about 6:30 Saturday evening. When officers arrived, they were told that Nijhiss Rowe, 35, had been asked by the bartender to leave sometime after 6 p.m.
Rowe clearly took exception to the request. He picked up a glass and hurled it at the bartender, but Rowe missed his intended target and hit the woman instead.
The woman was taken to a hospital with injuries that are considered serious but not life-threatening. Rowe was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to Sacramento police.
While more needs to be determined regarding the cause of this Sacramento personal injury accident, the fact that the woman was hospitalized and that Rowe was charged may indicate there is cause for a personal injury claim. If the woman who was injured brought a California personal injury lawsuit against Rowe and it was successful, damages could be awarded for medical expenses, lost income and pain and suffering.
