The US Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit consolidates Doe v Gonzalez I & II and determines that the USA Patriot Improvement and Reauthorization Act provides adequate safeguards that alter the lower courts rulings on behalf of the plaintiffs regarding 18 U.S.C. section 2709.
