Our firm recently reviewed the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) list of recalled motor bikes to find out which ones are the most likely to still be in use, even though they’ve been recalled. Please review the following list in an effort to make sure that you are not currently riding any of these bikes.

Recalled Motorcycles and Off-Road Bikes/Accessories

  • KTM North America Inc., of Murrieta, California, recalled over 6,000 2011 KTM and Husaberg Off-road/Competition Motorcycles because when their handlebar clamps start developing cracks, they can cause the handlebars "to move from their set position." A rider can then lose control of the motorcycle and fall off or crash;
  • Baja Inc., d/b/a Baja Motorsports, of Anderson, South Carolina, recalled 4,300 Dirt Bikes because when fuel leaks from their fuel tanks, it creates fire and you will is known as is a you a burn risks for consumers;
  • Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A., of Irvine, California, recalled about 4,000 Kawasaki 2010 KLX110 Off-Road Motorcycles because of an ignition problem that can lead to the electric starter being activated unintentionally.  Riders can suffer serious injuries or even death due to this malfunction;
  • KTM North America Inc., of Amherst, Ohio, recalled about 550 Off-Road Motorcycles because the front fork inner tubes can "crack and separate from the fork axles, posing a risk of injury or death" to the riders; and

Please make sure that you and your loved ones are no longer riding these motorcycles or off-road bikes. If you do still have one, stop riding it immediately and contact the manufacturer or importer referenced in the press release.
