You may have seen them in your local building supply store.....radon gas detector kits costing $25 or so that you place in your house for a week and then mail to a lab for an analysis of radon gas levels in the air. If you’ve bought or sold a house in the last few years, your purchase and sale contract had a short notice in it advising you that radon gas “may present health risk to persons who are exposed to it over time,” and that you could contact your county public health unit for more information. What’s the fuss about?
