When a minor in Phoenix AZ is caught intoxicated in public they don’t usually spend a lot of time in jail. In most cases, but certainly not all, the minor might spend just enough time in jail to sober them up or until someone comes to pick them up. Under Arizona law, a minor cannot be charged with being drunk in public. However, any minor accused of public intoxication in Phoenix AZ can face charges for being disorderly or for possessing/consuming alcohol as a minor. Rarely will a Judge incarcerate someone for an alcohol case other than DUI. Any individual under the age of 18 caught with alcohol could have their divers’ license restricted or suspended by the MVD.
