Birmingham Pharmacy Suing Baptist Medical Center in Alabama Business Lawsuit

As reported by the Birmingham News, an independent pharmacy in Birmingham is suing Baptist Medical Center and the city of Birmingham over a proposed road closure.

Last summer, the Birmingham City Council approved a request by Baptist Health Systems to have three blocks of Tuscaloosa Avenue vacated, between 7th Street Southwest and 10th Street Southwest, so it could move forward on a pedestrian friendly link to the main hospital.

Alley Drug Stores Partnership and a neighboring gasoline station and convenience store owned by Holmes Oil Co. allege that closing down the three blocks of Tuscaloosa Avenue adjacent to their stores will hurt business.
