New York civil rights violation lawyer David Perecman of The Perecman Firm hopes the number of New York police-involved shootings continues to decline. He offers positive comments on the 2010 Firearm Discharge Report Preliminary Statistics recently released by The New York Police Department. The report shows a record low number of fatal New York police-involved shootings last year. In 2010. New York police officers shot and killed eight people and wounded 16 others. In 2009, police shot and killed 12 individuals and wounded 20 more. Also reflected in the report, there were fewer police-shooting incidents in 2010. These include the shooting of animals and accidental discharges.
