Spouses that are approaching a divorce should consider talking with a collaborative lawyer to get an assessment of their situation. A collaborative lawyer can provide some insight as to whether or not an agreement can be reached without litigation. If this assessment is done early on in the divorce process, there is a greater chance that both parties will be more inclined to participate in the collaborative process. Spouses that are able to work together in this manner oftentimes find the collaborative divorce model beneficial.
