In an effort to reduce the number of personal injuries caused by bicycles, the New York Department of Transportation is introducing a public-service ad campaign that reminds cyclists “Don’t be a jerk.” The campaign's main target are bikers who knowingly disregard traffic laws. Personal injury lawyer David Perecman confirms that pedestrian personal injury accidents are often times caused by cyclists who race through red lights, bike on sidewalks, and go the wrong-way down streets, among other personal injury causing actions. More cyclists on the streets increases the number of New York personal injury cases.
