SUMMARY: The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games has filed 173 trademark applications in Canada since 2004.
Many applications were filed, but the registration process was not completed. Clearly, after each great idea by the Olympic committee, a new round of applications were filed in an attempt to reserve numerous marks.
Attached is the current status of the "Inukshuk Design" mark which is the symbol most recognizable with the 2010 Winter Games. The application was filed and registered in 2005...well before the actual 2010 Winter Olympics.
