More Water for Our Valley Bill of 2011


Representatives Costa and Cardoza have introducted legislation designed to address the severe water-shortage issues California faces due to continuing drought conditions and pumping restricitions imposed by the federal Endangered Species Act. The bill targets the state's primary water provides--the federal Central Valley Project and the State Water Project. The bill states that is purpose is "[t[o provide congressional direction for implementation of the Endangered Species Act as it relates to operation of the Central Valley Project

and the California State Water Project and for water relief in the State of California."
