Stealing Neighbors Property

Help, my neighbor stole my property

If you were in the grocery store and the person ahead of you forgot their bag of groceries, would you take the bag home with you for yourself and proclaim the contents of the bag is yours to consume, or would you argue about how much of the bags' content is yours, or would you rush to the rightful owner, who paid for the groceries and hand over the bag ?

This case describes the above situation in a real estate transaction I encountered in 2005. The Judge is being challenged to make the right decision. This in itself is incomprehensible to me. If the money I paid for the residential foreclosure (Groceries) the Masters in Equity (Grocery store) was the Judges money ($35000.00), I know he would insist on his groceries.

Instead, the Judge supports the theory that forgetting the bag of Groceries is the crime.
