In the Matter of the Petition of Raymond Marquez



The attached document is a Determination by a New York State Administrative Law Judge of the N.Y.S. Division of Tax Appeals that annulled an income tax assessment brought against an individual prosecuted for Enterprise Corruption who allegedly operated an illegal gambling syndicate in New York City during the period 1993-94. The criminal prosecution resulted in a bargained for plea of guilty and a sentence that was eventually amended to a period of five years probation; and million dollar forfeiture. The attorney, R. David Marquez represented the Petitioner, of similar name, Raymond Marquez. R. David Marquez also represented Raymond Marquez in a subsequent case based on similar allegations of Enterprise Corruption (twenty plus counts) that was brought in 1998. This subsequent prosecution resulted in an acquittal after a three month jury trial that concluded in July of 2001.
