What if a Phoenix AZ Prohibited Possessor unknowingly possesses a firearm?

If you are a prohibited possessor, it means that your gun rights have been taken away. This can be an extremely troublesome situation for some individuals, especially if they are not careful. For example, if you are a prohibited possessor, and a gun is found in your possession, you could potentially face a class 4 felony for misconduct involving weapons. On another note, if you have completely lost your gun rights, you might have a prior felony that could be used to enhance your sentence if you are found guilty of possessing a gun at trial. As a result, if your gun rights have been relinquished, you should not knowingly possess any type of firearm whatsoever. In addition, you should probably avoid situations where you could unknowingly possess a gun.
