Alabama Business Litigation Update: Tenet Rejects Community Health Systems’ Final Offer

As reported by the Birmingham Business Journal, the board of directors of Tenet Healthcare Corp. has flatly rejected Community Health Systems’ latest offer to buy the company for $7.25 per share. As we have previously reported on this blog, Tenet is the parent of Homewood’s Brookwood Medical Center and CHS is the parent of Birmingham’s Trinity Medical Center.

A takeover bid by CHS has become contentious over recent months, culminating in a lawsuit by Tenet and a subsequent federal investigation into CHS’s billing practices.
